Ardo and VLM Foods join forces in the North American Market
The European frozen food leader Ardo has acquired a majority stake in VLM Foods, a well-established supplier of processed food in North America, headquartered in Montreal with sales of EUR 129 million (USD 143 million). Besides VLM Foods, the deal includes a controlling stake in Compañia Frutera La Paz S.A., Costa Rica’s largest frozen pineapple producer. The latter allowing Ardo to broaden its frozen fruit product range.

Mark FeDuke attended the CETA launch
At the invitation of Canadian officials and in the presence of Canada’s Minister of International Trade, the Honourable Francois-Philippe Champagne, ArdoVLM’s Mark FeDuke attended the September 21st official event launch of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) which promises to strengthen economic opportunities for E.U. and Canadian businesses alike.

Trade Facilitation Office Canada, or TFO Canada, is a not-for-profit development organization dedicated to creating sustainable trade partnerships for exporters in developing countries by providing technical assistance, market intelligence reports and regulatory capacity building activities. As part of TFO’s information sharing and training services, ArdoVLM’s Mark FeDuke presented a webinar for stakeholders in Central and South American on the impacts that regulations under the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act and the Safe Food for Canadians Act may have on their businesses and how to navigate those challenges.
